It is difficult to view your own work objectively, and overexposure during the writing process can make authors blind to areas of improvement. I am trained to correct errors in grammar, punctuation, syntax, spelling, capitalisation, consistency and numbering.
Proof reading is the final check to ensure that your project is flawless before publication. It does not include editorial suggestions to improve prose, explanations of corrections, or commentary on style and flow. Before this stage, you must be confident in the overall structure and phrasing.
My rates are competitive, but they are not fixed because the scope of work varies depending on the extent of editing required.
It is always best for me to see a sample of the text before giving an estimate of overall time and cost. On seeing a sample, I will also advise on what service is recommended, whether that is the expected proof reading or a more thorough proof edit or copy edit.
